In the autumn of 1994 I decided to concentrate on geochemistry. I was then concerned with XRF (x-ray fluorescence analysis) and finished my diploma thesis ("Analysis of international geological reference samples by x-ray analysis using a new calibration" - Abstract) in January 1996.
I still spend a lot of time with the XRF-spectrometer but try to earn my Ph.D. by analysing gas bearing fluid inclusions in salt rock minerals using Raman-spectroscopy mainly. I am proud to say that I am a member of The working group "Genesis and Evolution of Salt Rocks".
In the remaining time I am interested in German football (soccer) and travelling. The United States, Australia and France were the places I went to in the last years. But as always in life, the best things are always just around the corner: Harz National Park

If you are interested in X-Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy - here is how it works. (Misleading title, for the moment, the text is German only. Lots of bytes - but divided into handable chapters!)
